Property Tax Exemption

Have you filed for your Property Tax Exemption Yet?

The Municipality of Anchorage offers residents a 10% exemption of your assesed property value for Owner Occupied residents.   Per the MOA:

"Ten Percent of the assessed value of the residential real property up to a maximum of $20,000 of assessed value shall be exempt from property taxation"

The conditions of this exemption are:

• Owned and Occupied as the Owner's primary residence for a minimum of 185 days in the previous year of exemption
• Owner must be a resident of the State of Alaska for the entire year prior to the exemption year
• Owner of record needs to complete an application
• Residential Exemption Application Deadline is March 15th of the Tax Year for exemption is being applied for
